DIY saddle protection

Just got an sqlab active suspension saddle but it has no kevlar or the like to protect it when i go down... which is inevitable. I'm not above running a few strips of duct tape on the corners of it, but I'm curious if any of y'all tinkerers have experimented with something a lil prettier and more effective??

I have not seen nor heard of anything being used like that for prevention. Sure seen some taped stuff after the fact. Suggest just use whatever moisturizer they say to use every now and then to keep it soft and supple, enjoy it.

Some places offer a sock-like cover. It could be made with lycra, fabric or even gel or sheepskin. The amount of protection varies but it would reduce the rash/wear factor a little.

The one downside to covers is they can move independently from the seat and can cause a lack of grip.

Forté Endurance Saddle Pad - Bike Saddle Covers/Pads I just got one of these last week to go over my leather saddle. Super tight and non-slip fit. I think the 75 grams they quote may be with packaging since it feels light as air. Very nice cheap solution.
