can i "resize" a Bell full face helmet by swapping 'med' pads for 'large' ?

I have a Bell Transfer 9 full face helmet- it's a medium, and it fits, but its pretty uncomfortable. I read once that Bell splits its helmet shells between two sizes (so large and medium share the same shell) by using different pads. I specifically read this for the Bell transfer 9 and for the large and medium sizes, and that someone (on here) had done exacly this.

But upon emailing Bell, the girl told me no dice.

Can anyone vouch for this either way?

Ive just bought that same helmet in medium and I find it VERY comfortable, people have told me it will bed in to my head after a few rides but I've no problem with it at all maybe I'm lucky , different head shapes will cause it to fit better or worse for some people..
I could see it being hot in the summer though..!!
    I do try..!!
