    Best shoes?

i need to replace my shoes, but i've only ever ridden Sidi's (since 1998), so I have no idea what else might fit and wear well. I own Sidi Dominators (regular width) - does anyone know of a comparable, but less expensive shoe? I need narrow and fairly stiff with a decent arch. also, since i've been riding my RFX more and single speed less, i'm doing a bit of hike a bike- would be nice to have a decent sole on there. Thanks. Oh, must be SPD compatible.

I like my Bontragers pretty well so far. They are cheaper than the Sidis, at a comparable performance level, but still not a bargain. They have a touch more room in the toe box, but overall a pretty nice fit on me. I fit a Sidi pretty well BTW, with a pretty low volume foot. The soles of the Bontrager aren't that much better than the Doms though. It's tough to find a stiff soled shoe that hikes well too.

661 Experts. Only $50, just the right amount of flex for some "feel" when used with M646 or other DH platform clip-in pedals. Stiff enough for XC riding but they don't feel like a carbon XC shoe. A good amount of rubber on the sole for reasonable control when unclipped. Very light at 650g for size 45.
    Keep the Country country.

I'm sure there's a lot of good shoes out there...Sidi's seem to have the consensis of being the best although I prefer flat pedals and 5-10's for FR/DH. (You did post this in FR/DH forum so I assume you're not asking for a XC shoe).
