New question here. Baggy shorts and 3/4s for tall, normal men?

I need something to accommodate my 1.88cm height and 113cm hips / 107 cm waist (42"ish) ... which means usually sized over the last size made by most bike apparel makers. Whereas I can go buy an L or mostly XL in casual every day wear, bike makers apparently make clothes for skinny whippets and my sized ends up with 3XL (!) for some brands. But they don't even make things that size.

I found a few sites that are aimed at men quite a bit larger than me (aerotech etc). I basically want a good autumn/spring in-between season 3/4 short like an Endura MT500 3/4 etc ... but I can't find one atm.

    Any ideas?

Regular shorts plus knee pads. That's what I'm doing for winter riding this year. I assume you want the extra length to keep your knees and quads warm. I have some poc knee pads coming today that I hope to wear as leg warmers.

I second the shorts+knee somethings. Either soft pads or roadie knee warmers.
I tried the 3/4 length pants last year and found that length is way better suited to Lycra rather than anything baggy. Happily I got them at REI and returned them after one ride.

Hard to put a finger on it, specifically. I just found them to be restrictive when doing 'big' movements. I had to 'hitch' them up by pulling on the thighs like pants before throwing a leg over the top tube, and I could feel them dragging at my knees when getting behind a saddle.

Could have easily just been a personal thing, or maybe the cut of the legs, but I knew I didn't care for it.
