    Back Brace

Can anyone recommend a back brace for the mid back? I find riding anything over 10 miles my back really starts to hurt. It gets worse the more climbing I do. I have the same problem / pain standing or being slightly slouched over for long periods of time.
I'm going to play with my position in the cockpit a little and see if that helps.
Hopefully someone can chime in and keep the riding fun

Sorry, no idea on the back brace.

However, if I were you, I would:
    • play with different fit components and / or their various configurations
    • change positions - seating (front / back, standing up, etc.)
    • try different gears for climbing
    • work to strengthen your core through dedicated exercises
    • lighten your load / bike
    • focus on lift-assisted rides

    Best!

    Scotty,

I think the brace is a bad idea. Look, I have one of these prosthetics installed:

And I ride the trail like a man posessed- MTB marathons, jump parks, crashing into trees... you know, riding as if I were never injured and still in my 20s.

The key to the whole thing with the back is core strength. 15 minutes of core exercise each day will start making a difference the first week. Next, take your bike to a shop and have them look at your riding position. There may be a fit issue there. All a brace is going to do is shift the load up the spine, and possibly lead to injury. Be careful.
Go out and ride your bike
