    Anyone using Fox Diffuse or Downpour LT jacket?


    Anyone using either of these jackets care to comment on their effectiveness? like/dislikes, etc. Thanks!

    For 3 season riding? That kind of doesn't make sense to me. A real light rainshell type packable jacket is good for the summer, fall and spring stuff. A breathable softshell is usually for winter when the temps are cold enough you won't really get any liquid precip, and you need the breathability in those temps. That said, I have a variety of lightweight breathable jackets like that, some packable, some softshelll, some waterproof, etc., I just look for what's on sale at REI and other places. Light softshells with hoods are among the best, because you can put the hood under your helmet. On the other hand, if you are looking for rain protection, it's going to require some kind of a hardshell, maybe even a vest at times, because you're going to heat up fast with any hardshell when climbing.
