Anyone repair a hole in lycra?

I've got a real small (3/8 inch) hole in my shorts down in the sitting area. Anybody got a fix? I really don't need much stretching of the material in that area, I would think...

    Yeah

I had my cleaners sew up a tear in lycra shorts - cost a couple of dollars. Lasted for a long time after that.

I just stitch them closed. Pull the stitches tight enough to close the hole but not overlap the edges to make it pucker.

Thanks. I'll give it a try. And BTW, I'm not too old to do something. I'm 50!
Like Lance would say, "Are you ridin' or are you hidin'?" Well, I'm hidin'. It's cold in Chicago this week. In the basement, on the trainer!

If you're hiding alone in the basement on the trainer who cares if you have a hole in your lycra.

Funny story about holes in lycra:

A few years ago, I was riding after work with a guy I knew from work. He was a middle-aged, mild-mannered, fairly conservative and active in his church. He was also wearing a new pair of "Monday" shorts from Nashbar, which he got cheap on closeout.

Throughout the ride, he was tugging on the shorts, which did not want to stay up at the waist, nor down at the legs. By mid-ride, he was sporting some scattered small holes in the back and on the legs. I ended up leading for quite some time until I came to a short steep climb about 3/4's of the way through the ride. I dabbed and pulled to the side so my buddy could keep going. As he rode by, I saw a white flash - his entire right cheek was exposed! I nearly doubled over with laughter, had to walk the rest of the hill and had a tough time finishing the ride. It's hard to breath properly when you're chuckling.

Just drop it down to your local cleaners to do it if you are not confident or otherwise, I got my loving Mom to stitch mine up using only thead. It was only a small tear and from a distance you could not tell that it has been repaired.
