    2FO Cliplite Lace

I just picked up the 2FO Cliplite Lace shoes yesterday to replace my Teva shoes. Loved the Teva's but the cleats didn't go far enough back for me, so I drilled and dremeled until the did. Unfortunately this weakened the aluminum plate in the sole, and they wore out a bit early. I will not use Boa on shoes because I had one fall apart on me, and I have seen buckles smashed on rocks. Yea, they replace them, but I don't want the inconvenience if I'm on a trip. Laces are dead reliable.

On to the shoes. They feel light, quite stiff, just wide enough, and protect the toes. I was finally able to position cleats where I wanted them, although they are all the way to the rear. It feels perfect to me. They mesh with my XTR Trails perfectly, and the cleat pocket design works well for clipping in. They are not as breathable as my old shoes, but better than many in this category. Reviews are good, and I am hoping for long term durability.

those look like nice shoes! I wish they would update with a velcro strap like the kestrel lace! That's the thing that's missing to make this shoe perfect!

True, my old Teva's have a nice wide strap, but the CL's are pretty secure, and have an elastic to hold the laces down. I've heard bad things about Kestrel durability.

TB how are these shoes working out for you. are they comfortable? i hear the upper material is stiff and take a while to break in.

I still like them, even on 3+ hour rides. Didn't really notice a break in period and the uppers aren't too stiff.
