    POC Trabec/ Giro Feature Helmet

Hi guys, I need to see pics of you who has the POC Trabec or Giro Feature helmet out in the trail...most of the pics in the net are not actual trail pics but those on bike shows..

Am looking at getting a new lid and these 2 are in my consideration...hope to see trail pics of them from your contributions...thank you.

I just received my Feature in the mail. I have not seen anyone in the trails with them on myself. Lots of xc lids and the skate, Bern type as well.

Yup done that but somehow i feel that a riding pic of the helmet might just help me to decide to buy them...between the black or orange trabec or other colors if it looks good in the woods..

Tyler thank you for the pic..

dont have an image but the Feature by Giro is super comfortable and doesnt feel like you have a helmet on, and the cooling vents work so great, no more sweat wet hair

Not really the info you were looking for but I recently got a 661 Recon and I love it. Just food for thought.

Have to agree with BertoManfred, I have a bell sequence that provided enough coverage IF I fell and landed upside down. The Feature looks more like a open face moto helmet. The visor provides ample enough coverage.

Anybody knows hows the fit on the POC? I have a more ovalize head rather than rounded and the 661 I find is more suited to round heads. I feel that the side of my 661 is just a bit loose.

Used to have a Giro E2 and it fits nicely for my oval head..the LBS here dont have a POC for me to try on but if the fit of the Trabec is somewhat similar in feel with Giro helmet then it would be fine by me...anybody has experience with both Giro n POC?

    Not the same fit.

Need to try them on to know for sure.

The POC fits my oval head well.
Some Giros fit me. Most do not, too round.

No, the Zen does not fit my head well.

The G9 snowboard helmet fits great.

I am also in the same boat, between the 2 helmets, both in green color, But IŽd like to see more real life pictures of them. The Feature costs half the Trabec (which looks awesome) but the giro also has somehting something.

I just cracked my Bell this weekend so I just ordered a POC Trabec Race MIPS Helmet from Bike bling.
They have a great price on the helmet and right now you can save an extra 10% with the discount code of "summer" I think $170 shipped is a great deal!

I have the Feature and I like it much. Cannot beat $55 shipped IMHO. It is surprisingly well vented, too.

It is still and always about fit. The POC fits my head perfectly. The Feature not at all. No contest on which I would and do wear, regardless of the look.

You need to try them on.

+1 I'm exactly the same. I love my POC that I have two (Green Trabec and matt Black Race).
Fit is spot on. Comfortable as hell. And I have a big round'ish egg shape head I've tried a Giro Xar and the fit to me is loose on top and tight at the bottom. The same with the Feature. But the Hex fits me good. Strange.
Also The POC vent is really good. I live in HK which is very humid/hot and I can say I have no problem with it. Great lid IMHO

    Like my Hi-Vis stuff

I will be interested to hear how it fits. My xen fit me a lot better than the Fox helmets (Flux, Transition) that I have now, so I'm thinking that the Feature might be my next helmet. The POC is way too expensive IMO.

Recently switched from a Bell Influx 2 to the POC Trabec. Fit is very similar.
Giro regular bike helmets don't fit me well, but oddly their snowboard helmets fit me better than anyone else (Giro Seam). The full face Giro Remedy fits me pretty well too, better than the Fox, TLD, and 661 helmets the bike shop had to try on.

I'm surprised how light this helmet is
much lighter than my old helmet, which didn't have as much coverage, and had a lot more holes

I just received my POC Trabec Rase Mips Helmet. I wasn't able to try this helmet on before I purchased it so I crossed my fingers that it would fit. Lucky for me it fits me like a glove.
This helmet provides lot's of protection and that's what I'm looking for (save my head!).
I will give a report on how it works right after my next crash
    Weight-365 grams

Ahhh CRAP!!! Thanks a lot guys! Now I'm going to go spend just as much on a bike helmet as I did on my ski helmet.

I think I'm partial to the Giro, since I've been so happy with the venerable Giro 9 (which my in-tact noggin will attest works quite well, btw!)

Any knowledge/feedback on how running O-rings through the vents to mount headlamps affects the performance of the helmet? (Lie to me, lie to me softly....)

the gap between holes is pretty long so you would need a LARGE o ring to cover that gap

I like look of both helmets, but decided on the Feature. Being able to try it on & not the POC was the difference.

I just moved to a POC Trabec from a Flux. The POC fits waaay my head way much better. It's light, has good airflow and fit well. The baby blue color is nice too!

How about the size of the Trabec relative to others? A friend of mine bought a XL-XXL which according to the size table was intended for a 62" head and it really looks big, the helmet fit his head but looks bulky...

I owe you pictures, my laptop just got trashed a week ago.

    But impressions:

    - Awesome quality (maybe thats why they are expensive)
    - I think I ordered the light green but is actually very bright! REALLY bright! I was unsure of it but I think iam liking it
    - size? I ordered the M size (58cm) and it fits me much better than my Giro Xen M sized. I feel it feels better.
    - Air flow, riding slow I do sweat more than in my XEN, but on speed, it feels as aired as the xen.
    - Weight, it does weight a bit more than the XEN but I dont really feel much difference in that department.

So far I am very happy with it, actually I am surprised I am so happy with it considering the price. But I am.

Protection??? It feels solid, but honestly I hope I will never have a real crash report to tell you =)

I got a Giro as my first ever helmet and never liked the fit. Made me feel like a melon head and it bobbled a lot but was uncomfortable if I tightened it up. Got a POC Trabec on a whim, off the 'net (couldn't find locally) and surprise, surprise it fits like a glove. I love it. They do run a tiny bit small. I have a good sized noggin and the m/l fits snug, but its fine.
