    Need advice

I have just purchased a 2001 Schwinn Mesa Disc, my first bike since my old Rockhopper from when I was 16. So far I like the bike overall but the RoxShox Jett fork is way to soft for me. I bottom out all the time just hopping around. Can anyone make some suggestions for an upgrade? Not looking for DH only forks. I want to to be able to ride a bit of everything but mainly intermediate trails. Thanks!

That fork is what, 2.5" travel (63mm)? You'd want to get something comparable, but I think 80mm is standard these days. Maybe check with your LBS to make sure you match up your steerer tube, headset, handlebar stem, etc. Even if you don't buy through them, hey should still be able to help you.
btw - when you ask them about forks the $$$$$ will light up in their eyes and they will probably just try to sell you a new bike, but there's really nothing wrong with the Schwinn...'cept the fork I guess. Have fun!
