    Chainring Boost Offset

I am brand new here and to bikes. I just bought a Motobecane Phantom Elite NX x1 Boost. 27.5 wheels. The chainring was too low for my urban riding so I changed from a SRAM 20t to a Direct Mount 38t 3mm offset. This chainring hits my frame . Would a 6mm offset help move the chainring away from the frame? Thamx much for any help!
