All Mountain Santa Cruz Heckler Question

I have a 03 Heckler and pretty sure my 5th Element is toast. No rebound dampening, just springs back with a clang. I have searched and it doesn't look like Progression is servicing their MTB shocks anymore.

Question 1 - does anyone still service these and is it even worth it?

Question 2 - what would be a good all mountain shock to replace the 5th with?

    Thanks.

Progressive (as it was) went bust, what came out the other side doesn't do mtb-anything.

I second sending your shock to Avalanche Racing (Google them). If your shock is truly toast, as in threads on the body stripped etc they will tell you and that's an end of the matter. If it's not dead they can put their own internals in. Including the shipping it'll run you $200-250 and you'll get a better shock at the end than any $200 off the shelf unit.

if you do not do the above, consider getting a Rock Shox Monarch RT-RT3from PUSH. They can be had starting around $300 I think and will perform very well.
