    27.2mm Seat Post

I'm looking for an adjustable seat post for a 27.2mm tube. Was thinking of either the KS i7r or the GD Turbo both are cable driven (i'd like a hydraulic option) so not sure about reliability. Any thoughts please ?

i could have had order the kindshock in a neighbore country , then i would have been riding for 2 month or so with the KS, but i wanted to buy at my LBS because i dont know about reliability , warranty and service
waiting for parts on service is also bad
LBS got no deliverytime for the KS from his supplier , so he asked me for an alternative
    so i choose the Xfusion

    hopefully arriving soon

I know GD comes in 27.2. As far as reliability, mine (non-turbo) has been really good. I got one of the earlier models ~6 years ago. After ~1.5 years, the inner post snapped. They replaced it free (long out of warranty) with the newer design, and it has been fine for ~4.5 years. Utterly trouble free, always works. Still using the same cable from when they fixed it, on it's 4th bike now.
15mm is a second-best solution to a problem that was already solved.

Definitely GD. The design is super-reliable, fixable on the trail, and the customer service is excellent. I have one on the Spec Enduro and couldn't be happier. A great thing is that you can add multiple holes to the shaft to make a dual position (up and down positions only) a multi-position with the positions of your choice. Just drill similar holes in the shaft, it's as simple as that.

IMHO it's much better to have a few fixed positions that multiple ones, as your muscles work differently at each post height, so if you want to train them right, keep the post at certain positions rather than change the height every time.

    GD all the way.

I had a KS on order for over 6 months until I got sick of waiting! Then I got myself a Hilo which didn't work out of the box. I've been running a GD for the past month and love it!

GD got 81 reviews with an average of 4,47 chilis. No other post comes close in the number of reviewers, and only KS i7-R tops it with an average of 4,5, but from only 4 reviews.

Same experience for me. I bought my GD in 2006, replaced the inner tube under warranty in 2008 or so, and I have replaced the cable once since then. Pretty much maintenance free post.
