    Summit Creek Trail?

Anyone ridden this trail. The sign post says bikes are allowed, but "not Recommended". Just interested if any of you have actually been on the trail.

its at mile 44.8 of the Seward Hwy. Near Devil.

    Thanks

We rode it as part of a loop last year...parked at Devils, rode the highway to the trail head then up to a pass and down to the Resurrection trail and then connected to Devils. The trail itself is a climb in the beginning with some rocky spots and a few rolling hills in between before you drop down to Resurrection. We did it on a rainy day, so not as enjoyable as I think it could have been, but some of the views were pretty cool. I wouldn't recommend it after the area was hit by rain...give the trail a couple days to dry out.

    Gilpatrick mtn loop

Ah! You mean the Gilpatrick mtn loop. Summit creek is the descent. Ride up Devils hang a right on the Res. Ride up to the pass. Hang another right. Hike -a-bike over the saddle descend into the next valley. Ride up to the next saddle/ Hike-a-bike. Then descend back down to the highway. Alldayer......... eat your wheaties....... Do it now before it really grows over. It's an EPIC! Just ask Enduser

I did the loop thing last summer and found it to be miserable. Awesome views I will give you that, but riding down, the Summit trail is rutted enough that I couldn't get a full pedal stroke, lots of rocks and marmots. The hike a bike up the snow is pretty taxing.

It would be a fun hike though. Maybe you could find someone to ride up Devil's while you hike/jog up Summit, then exchange equipement at the pass. I'd do it if I wasn't busy
