    Summer Rides

Hey folks, sorry I haven't been very active in the group ride thing so far, but hopefully that will change. I'm selling sooo many bikes I can't keep up....wink wink to the other shop guys on this forum.
Because of my eye condition, I don't klnow if I'll be very effective on singletrack, so for now I'm planning some looong dirt road riding this summer, and hope to have some company.
Denali Hwy next month if conditions are good. Over/back in a day. Good chance for mtb riders to check out the trails off the road while I'm riding the road.
Kathy and I will 'tour' Tok-Eagle-Dawson-Tok end of June. This is our time alone, but anyone who wants to tour at the same time is welcome.
Haul road in August. Deadhorse-Skinny Dick's. 520 miles. Anyone?????
I'll try the offroad ultras too, but only if I can see the damn trail.
But let's not forget the Fireweed 200, for anyone needing a road fix. Finish in Valdez, get drunk, ferry back to Lovely Wittier, and somehow get back to Anchorage.
I know these don't sound like the most fun rides, but I have to make the most of what I have. Hope to see you out there, pat

Denali H-Way sounds great. I'll be back on the 16th if you folks can wait that long. Count me in for a car pool or whatever.

Hey Pat, sorry to hear your vision isn't all you'd like it to be. Be sure to give a holler when you come this way; you guys are welcome to base out of here anytime.

    Scouting Report

Denali Hwy is open up to the Susitna Bridge, or a few miles past it. They are hoping to have it open all the way by May 15th. I rode the first 25 miles yesterday and it was dry, smooth and dusty. Beautiful 60 degree temps…
