I'm taking this as a sign the trail isn't ready. There may be some open water in the way. Common problem this winter, unfortunately.

Portage was wide open but freezing up so guessing Spencer is too, or should be. But, supposed to get warm again next week.

Not open to snowmachines (yet) so somebody is going to have to do trailbreaking duties, or wait for crust. Snowpack is thin, but the river is looking frozen.

Was at the Placer overflow lot this afternoon messing around. A few inches of fresh snow, but super chunky/bumpy in the channel and thick aldery mess up on the banks.
    just pedal
