    Road Riding in Anchorage

I am coming up from Seward this weekend and was wondering the condition of the roads in the anchorage areas. Have they been swept yet? Are the pot holes horrible? Should I bring the road bike or the mtn bike?

I just got home about 10 minutes ago from riding a 30-mile loop through the city on my road bike. The roads are in pretty good shape right now. I saw two sweepers working this afternoon. Pot holes are about normal -- they haven't been a problem on my rides -- and there's a bit of gravel in many areas, but if you're paying attention it's no problem.

I'd say bring the road bike and enjoy the spring weather.
Enjoying the meaningful pursuit of meaningless fun.

the street sweepers went by a few days ago but... there is new dust on the paths and still need more sweeping for me to get on the road. As for potholes I saw quite a few the other day looks pretty normal for the time of year... I see more glass on the road though...

    Happy trails
