    New Shell

I'm trying to figure out what to get to replace my old shell for the winter. It's a ten year old Sierra Designs. Doesn't breath (bad), has lots of pockets (good) and has a zipper and snaps (redundancy can be very good). Problem is the zipper is about to give out. For below 20 degrees I usually wear a base layer, a polypro shirt, and sometimes a jersey over that. Any suggestions? Thanks

    Well...

I wear an Arcteryx shell for backcountry skiing, and for riding in the winter. I wear a wool shirt and a vest under it and if I'm working hard, it's plenty warm. Always dry at the end of a hard day skiing or riding .It breathes well, and keeps moisture out.
