    New bike pic

Just finished this bike which is going to Whitehorse to race in the Yukon Arctic Ultra. Surly Large Marge/Nokian 3.0 tires/Sram 9.0 drivetrain/30.5 lbs. I really hate sending these things off.

Is this a production bike or a custom bike? Tire Clearance? Cost?

    Thanks

We'll call it "semi-production". Stock Wildfire Columbus Zona 19" frame, custom color powdercoat, customer spec on most of the components.Tire clearance is over 5/8 of an inch around the chainstays and seatstays, almost an inch on the fork. Building 'em to handle the fabled 4 inch Surly snow tire if and when they become available. $2750 made this one go away. It will be raced this weekend on the Yukon.

Always good to see a smiling customer. Thomas was second in and out of the first checkpoint so looks like he's doing great with an Italian runner ahead of him. I'll go out on a limb here and say it looks like he's got a good chance of winning the race (of course, the fact he's the only cyclist in the race this year may have something to do with it )

    Arctic Ultra results

I heard from Thomas Muhler who was the lone cyclist, he finished second in 6 days to Stefano, the Italian runner by a bit over two hours but was able to outpace Andy Heading just before the finish. It looked like real soft conditions in all the photos I saw so way to go, Thomas!
