Good job! More bike porn please... Lets see the bikes...

More bike porn please... Lets see the bikes... Old, New... Lets see whats in your stable???
    I'll start use off here...
This is one of my 4 Specialzied bikes. This is my 2007 Specialized P2 cr-mo that I purchased from The Bicycle Shop just before spring last year. I've done some upgrades that are not pictured (Maxxis Holyrollers 26x2,40, WTB Jason V Camo DJ seat, etc...) . I did the hollow bolt star nut so I can run my front brake cable down threw my forks (first picture)... I have some new parts for my P2. Deity 31.8 bar and stem in white, etc... Was thinking of getting a wheel set of Halo's in white too... Halo makes some pretty tough wheel sets....
I'll try and post some newer pictures up soon...
I really enjoy riding this bike. It is so much FUNN... I only rode my Specialized Bighit maybe three times last summer...

At the top of somewhere we shouldn't be on bikes. I'm not sure why, other than people want to keep it a hiking trail. Before sending mean replies, we did this early in the morning and hikers were happy to talk with us. We were nice to them, and nobody cared.

It looks like the bottom of the seatpost could hit the linkage in that pic.

Thanks for pointing out a possible problem. I was worried about it too, and have actually cut the post since that picture was taken just as insurance. However the linkage even at full compression doesn't travel much vertically. It is mostly a forward horizontal motion, but it had me worried too.

Yo Bri, these two are for you. Finally right?

Still looking to do something with this front brake, whether it be running it through the fork, or just removing it all together. We'll see.

    Good job! Sweet!!!

Right now briank10... How's it riding now? Your fork all good now? You liking those new grips & seat?
Do you use your front brake much? You can clean up the front end and just remove the front brake all together... 99% DJ/Park bikes are S.S. with no front brake.
Since seeing your S.S. A bug is biting me to put mine to a S.S. I like how clean and simple a S.S. is...
I just found a used Deity crank set on eBay. But it looks pretty beat up... I guess it's cosmetics. But really hard to tell with out seeing them in person... Deity makes some killer stuff...

How much is the Deity crankset new? That'd look great on yours. White on white. Ever think about getting a white wheelset?

I'm having a blast back on the bike. Fork was completely rebuilt. Feels better now, then it ever did before. Got a new crankset also. Was having problems with the left pedal nut coming loose. My shop took care of it, and replaced it. The best part, everything was taken care of under warranty. Ride on!

Deity cranksets I believe are $200.00 complete. Yes, I've been kickin' around the idea of a white wheelset. I've checked on Halo. They make a pretty tough wheelset. You can get 32, 36, and 48 spoke. I just don't want to over do it with white...

I was thinkin' of pimpin' maybe a gold wheelset (with gold hubs)...
    YEAH BABY!!! OH BEHAVE!!!

Yeah, I wasn't to happy with that stock crankset on my '07 P2 cromo. We were out riding, and I was just sitting down, pedaling up a hill, WITHOUT warning, my drive side crank arm just fell right off!!! If I don't have the chain guide, the crank arm would have hit the gound. I was blown away. I couldn't believe it. My LBS tried eveything to fix it. But nothing worked. They replaced it under warranty. While I was waiting, I just order a new RaceFace Evolve DH crankset complete (X-type bottom bracket), and <3 it... The Evolve DH is there low end budget model. But it still KICKS A$$... I see Specialized fixed the problem on the new '08 P models with a black cromo crankset.

Wonder if white hubs would be better, than a complete white wheelset. I see what you're saying about too much white though.

Cannondale Profit. I've been looking at one of these. I was at both LBS's checking them out. I thought if I sold my Specialized Bighit, I'd get Cannondale Profit...
What size did you get? I can't decide between a Medium, or Large.

    Thanks for the offer.

No, that wasn't me at Kincaid. I was just sitting in my car, relaxing, reading MTBUK, Decline, Dirt, etc... I didn't feel like riding. I was so freakin' tired from work... Were you having problems with your SPD's?
Thanks for the offer. I've been looking at different All-Mountain type bikes. I'm really liking the Cannondale Profit (I'm a BIG Specialized Bike Fan, shhhhh )...What number did you get? I see 1, 2, 3, etc. They LBS said, the lower the number, the better the kit. I thought the Cannondale Profit 3 or 4 (I think) has a GREAT kit, and price. You get alot of bang for the buck. They are all the same frame, just different components (They stop using the lefty in 2007, I believe). I would be stuck between Medium, or Large. You want a large for climing, but a Medium for control. I think if I got a large, I would put a shorter stem on it.
I like the Cannondale Profit Mx, but they don't make that anymore...
I <3 my Specialized Bighit though. It's just a MONSTER (@ 45.5lbs.). I do pedal that beast up most hills.

Check out this video of them freeriding on a Profit.

Oh he rides alright, probably more than a few here put together. He doesn't own a car, does at least two mt bike trips outside a year, and rides a ton at home. Even if summer work takes him to the Aleutians, he takes his Pugsley for beach riding daily. His life is about riding!

I can see nice bikes on the internet all day long. But seeing them in their intended environment...man it adds somethin. Thanks for sharing the pRon.
What kind of riding season do you have up there? I cut my teeth in Arizona and Kaliphornia for a long time, and I've been enjoying the midwest for the past 10. Do you guys have some lower elevations that don't get dumped on for winter months? The Beauty of Flagstaff is you drop 20 minutes to sedona and you have dry trails agsin. I'd hate to move to paradise only to find out that it shuts down 9 months outta the year, and it takes a plane to get you back to some dry trails.

Can you actualy ride the trails into the back country tho? We can ride the winter in Iowa, if you don't mind sharing the road with soccermoms in their Navigators suffering from a God complex.I'm not big into road riding anyways. These people scare the crap outta me on dry pavement with an actual shoulder to ride on. But we do have the farm roads out of town.

I've actually been looking into doing some winter riding here. I guess you'd be the crowd to ask; whats available for those of us who prefer baggy? I'm not a lycra/spandex kinda guy. But I can't picture trying to pedal in Carhartts either.

I think the winter opens up more of the backcountry. Compacted snowmachine trails are are everywhere and allow access to places that are muddy messes in the summer months. Then there is the rivers and lakes, frozen gravel bars as well as the usual biking hiking and skiing trails.

Right on. That makes sense. We don't have the same all-access areas here. You can find snowmobile tracks, but it's usually private property. most of the bike trails here will not allow any form of motorized vehicles. And the roadsides have 10 foot burms of dirty, salty snow from the plows. We have a new local bike park that is talking about staying open 365. I'm gonna give it a go and se what happens.

    Rocky Mountain ETSX 70

This is my brand new E-bay score. Everything is still stock except for the Fly ti saddle and Nokian Freddies, but more is on the way.Coming from mostly hardtail bikes, the ETSX buttery smooth and light. It rocks the new STA trails (Not Spencers, because of you know who)!
