Memorial Day weekend rides on Denali Hwy?

Anyone want to go play in the Denali Hwy area with Pat, Carlos, and the rest? Pat plans on riding an over/back on the road, while others want to ride some of it then veer off on the many miles of side trails and explore. Camping, etc. Let us know if you want to join us and we'll get a carpool going.
    Cheers, Pat

    More Info

Well I'll be there with wife and I know some others will be there also. For all you non-responders the plan is to camp at the Brushkana campground, which is about 25 miles in the hi-way from the Cantwell side, and ride from there. Looks like folks will be getting there throughout the evening night so feel free to just show up.

    count me out

It has been rumered that Eric will be waiting out coastal Fog in the Prudhoe Bay hotel drinking bad coffee and eating gravey until the weather clears so he can go flying. Staring at his bike for the return trip home.

    Have a great trip everyone.

    Riding the Denali Hwy?

Just curious, when you say you ride the Denali Highway are you doing XC across it, or going up there, making camp, and riding around on the trails and stuff? I drove it two weeks ago and saw some places that looked like they might be fun to MTB, but riding the 156 miles across doesn't sound that fun for a weekend trip.

    Denali Ride went well

Pat, Kathy, Adam, his wife Joanne, and Dylan Kentch made the trip to Denali Hwy for a long weekend of fun. After arriving early Sat morning, we slept in and finally got started at 1pm. We made a goal of McClaren Summit, but the boys only made it to the McClaren River before turning back at 7:30pm. The ride is awsome and the views can't be beat. It's like riding on the Park road, but with a few civilians driving cars/trucks/RVs.
We finally made it back around 1:30am in the rain, and happy we'd given it a good try. 13hrs of riding was the perfect warm-up for the longer races to come this summer. Thanks to all who went and made it alot of fun.
PS. We just got the Airborne 29er full suspension bike in that we need to bash, so stop by and give it a test. Cheers, Pat
