Looking for some ideas for a good solo ride.

I'm fairly new to mountain biking, and was thinking of doing Gull Rock out of Hope. I have Monday off and don't think my buddy is up to doing Johnson pass like i wanted. Any other ideas that are fun, i guess i could go hit up the hillside or Kincaid, i just thought since i don't get days off very often I'd try something more epic and memorable.

Isn't Gull Rock just a short and slimy rock and root fest? If you are in Hope, just ride up the Resurrection trail to Resurrection Pass. Or go to Cooper Landing and ride up to the pass from that side. Resurrection Trail is really beautiful, and not that technical for a newer rider but still plenty epic.

    Well,

Gull Rock is technical, but it is nearly 100% rideable for a very strong rider. The unrideable sections are short. Really cool trail though. They cut in a new section at the beginning to bypass the campground there. Res Pass is good too. Lost Lake trail near Seward should be good to go by now. Keep in mind, all of these trails are nice and grown in by now. Make lots of noise.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to ride up Resurrection trail from the hope side today, going to leave in a bit and head down there in the rain hope it lets up a little. Elfbkr50 I think my wife works with you. Mrs Allen... hope you've had a great summer.

    Yep

That's me. Have a good ride down there. The rain is getting the trail ready for this years' soggy bottom. Let me know if you want to ride in town sometime.

It was definitely soggy down there and the trail is pretty overgrown in places, I only rode in to Caribou cabin, but I was plenty muddy. I'll post a picture from the end once I get them loaded.
