    Intro and trail question

Hello all, recently singed up after lurking a bit.
I deciding commuting from Eagle River to South Anchorage every day was justification for a better bike, but I can't really afford to have a lot of bikes (I have kids who need wheels too!) so I bought a Salsa Fargo.
Street tires for M-F and knobbies for the weekend.
This summer my family has discovered single track and fell in love with it.

I am planning an anniversary trip with my wife to bike Pinochle/Hicks creek trail hoping to connect to the Eureka trail system in a few weeks.

Anyone have comments on Squaw Creek, Alfred Creek and Belanger pass trails?

    Intro and trail question

They will be crawling with hunters at that time. That said I have been thinking about riding that area too.

I was up there Pinochle/Hick creek back to Hicks lake two weeks ago. Trails were dry and dusty, not the normal mud bog I've seen in the past. Some guy drove his D10 dozer on the first mile and made a mess of the trail [drake voice] real good [/drake voice] but it is still rideable with lots of ruts and ripped up alder roots. I guess you have a good line of sight now down low on Hicks. Out of Eureka I always go up Monument back into Yacko Creek and Tyone Creek area. There are many more people on the Alfred creek area trails so I don't go back there as much but they are rideable trails none the less. I have not been back up the Alfred creek Belanger pass area in the last two years so [LaVar Burton voice] Don't take my word for it [/LaVar Burton voice].

Joe I'll give you some drops for the fatback if you want to make a Fatbackargo. I love what you have done to it. I'll pm you to see what your schedule is like we also need to ride.

We had to postpone for this year, but I still want to do it. Now that I have the idea, I can plan for earlier in the year.
