IMBA Trail Crew coming to Alaska

    Dear IMBA friend,
The International Mountain Bicycling Association will be in Alaska this June,
and you're invited to join in the special events.

    June 17-20 Fairbanks
    June 24-27 Palmer/Wasilla

Save the date! Each event will include Trailbuilding education, trailwork,
and other fun events! This is your opportunity to rub shoulders with the
IMBA crew while learning all about trailbuilding. Stay tuned for more
    details as the dates approach!

You are receiving this email as an IMBA member or contact. Please help us
get the word out and forward this invitation to other area mountain bikers,
    land managers, and trail users!

If these events are too far away for you to attend, we understand. We sent
you this email not only to invite you but also to let you know about the
important work IMBA is doing in your area.

If you have any questions, please contact Aaryn Kay at [email protected] or
visit imba.com! Local contact for Palmer: Mark Gronewald at [email protected] or (907)-745-2453 (Valley Mountain Bike Alliance)

Thanks Mark for working with IMBA for all of us. I think you have all our support, but few of us are willing to take the time to get it done. I'll be there if we're back from our trip.
    Cheers, Pat

The friday session will be in the evening fom 6 to 9 or so and will be classroom discussion. Saturday we will be in the field all day doing hands on trail work and then Sunday will be a half day trail work session followed by a ride.

Hope to see you there, having a trained cadre of trail volunteers nearby will make it a lot easier to get permission to build new trails and improve old ones.

Are there flyers printed for this event? I am at the Bicycle Shop in Anchorage. I am sure I can put up a poster/Flyers if they are around.

I will put together the bodies that I can. If nothing else, my camera and I will be there.

Still working on the flyer but I'll get in touch when it's ready. We are tentatively planning on construction of a short demo section at Kepler Bradley State Recreation area pending approval of Special Use Permit. Also will be revegging a poorly routed trail and doing some flagging layout of other new trails.

Thanks for the interest and please spread the word
