    Hammer

The winter Hammer Adventure race took place this past weekend up in Chickaloon.
The biking leg included lots of quality uphill pushing with two totally fun descents. My partner and I were the only team to use 29" wheels and subsequently were the only ones able to ride most of the leg!
Great race, great weather, good times had by all

Good Job E. Did the Ski train last weekend with Marcy, she mentioned that Tracy and Eric were working a checkpoint at the Hammer event, so you folks were in our thoughts between polkas and beer of course... Couldn't ask for better weather did you use snowcats?? Just imagine how cool 29ers will be in the snow when we get some big tires.

    wheels

Hey Adam good to hear from you, ski train-fun, beer - good.
We didnt have the 29" snowcats I've been thinking of getting them for next year though. Pat was generous enough to loan us a front wheel since I only had one between the Karate monkey and black sheep.

    Looking foreword to some dirt!!
how is that cx-1 treating you?

The CX-1 is great but I put on a KM rigid fork for the winter. The CX-1 worked great until January or whenever that we had those sustained below zero temps then it wouldn't hold air. But it was almost -20 at my house on the night that it finally stopped holding air. Right now I'm riding my 26" Breezer rigid single speed its a good ice/breakup bike. I think I ran into you one day in the fall when I was on it. It is a rock solid bike great for muddy wet conditions in the spring and fall.

Just so you guys know, QBP who owns Surly has come out with their own 29" bouncy forks that are getting lots of attention. And they are affordable. Pat
