Once again, Carlos coordinated another great ride. Thanks.

For those of you who couldn't make it, I have to recommend riding the river when your looking for something different. This are receives just enougn snow machine traffic to pack in a good trail if we go about a week without snow. That said, I only came across one snow machine and I was able to make the ride on 26x2.35 studs with 25mm rims--not exactly a "snaux bike".

A fellow in the parking lot said the river was frozen nicely all the way to the Glenn. Try getting on the river at the Eagle River Loop Rd trailhead--you can avoid the $5 parking fee during the winter months. You can ride down river, to the campgrounds, or upriver toward the nature center. Out and back trips to the nature center are 20 plus miles. The temperature in the valley can be similar to Far North/Hillside--ten or so degrees colder than you expect, so be prepared.

Thanks Rio for a fun little adventure

that was a great route, and while I have ridden a bit on local rivers, I had never rode on Eagle River. It was a blast. Good riding companions, some technical terrain for a river, and fantastic views. Thanks for waiting for us who did some extra credit miles, it was too good to back.

    Thanks again,
