    Fat Tire Festival

It sounds like the Fat Tire Festival may not happen this year due to lack of interest.
I wanted to get the word out just in case someone was planning on going, you may want to let the race director know because the final decision has not been made yet!
Race director contact info can be found @ http://speedwaycyclesak.com/pages/info/fattire.html

    Fat Tire is ON

As far as I know, the Fat Tire Festival is a "Go."

I am meeting with the coordinator tomorrow a.m. to go over details.
The format is similar to years past: 60-mile race starting at 12:00 noon on the Chitina Bridge on Sat. Aug. 2nd; Camp in McCarthy Sat. night; Group barbeque Sat. evening (potluck--bring something to share); Scavenger hunt or Chainless downhill on Sunday morning.

Participants are responsible for shuttling their own vehicles into McCarthy.

If anyone on here has not been to Mcarthy, you are missing one of the last true gems that AK has to offer. Plus, if you don't feel like riding the 60 miles from Chitna you can always drive the shuttle and spend the day riding around on the glacier. I did this a couple of years ago had an absolute blast.
