Cool, just trying to share it around. I registered today. Hope we get conditions to permit a good race.

The ERNC race has been fun the last two years. Two years ago, it was held at the ERNC as mentioned in the race flier with a lot of racing on the river itself. Crazy windy which just made it more fun. Last year there was mostly open water on the river, so they worked out a deal and moved the race to Mirror Lake and used the XC ski trails and lakes there, so it was a mix of icy lake and fun trails. Unless the weather changes a lot, I don't see us out on Eagle River for the race. Hopefully they can utilize the backup course again if/when needed. Great group of people out to make a fun day for everyone whatever happens.

    ERNC race

Well if it moves to mirror lake we are in for some climbs. I rode some of those ski trails this summer and they go straight up and straight down either way it'll be fun

Anyone have updates on this? No new info or race map online. I'm registered but other than a receipt no communication from race peeps.

I would suggest a call in to Chain Reaction Cycles tomorrow as they are the guys who run it.

Here is a link to the Facebook event for the race: https://www.facebook.com/events/795287577194940/ They have been setting the course, so there are some pictures of the trail.

The new single track through the woods was a great addition to the course.
With so little snow, I suspect the race would have been rideable (and fast) on a non-fat MTB.

There were a few skinnies out there. I would have thought they could have a massive advantage on the flat-ish river, but a few places where they'd be out of luck on the climbs I suppose. Was lots of fun, great course. Kind of freaky at times hearing the ice flex beneath you, seeming like it was about to give-way. My coldest race yet!

I passed one guy on a skinny tire and he was having trouble down on the river. Just soft enough to get squirrley. I too thought they would have an advantage until I saw him struggling.
