Eklutna Trail with Tag a Long

Title kind of says it all. It's been a while since I have biked it and wondering how suitable it is for a child on a tag a long. He is pretty comfortable on there but can't remember how rooty and bumpy it is.

    Thanks!

It's do-able, took the young 5yr old on the trail last year. I think we only walked one lil section. Only think the lil guy didn't like was looking down the cliffs.

Thanks. We rode part way up the trail on Sunday. Good scouting for a family bike packing trip.

You probably should avoid the first couple of singletrack sections that are about 1 mile in, they are rooty for pulling a kid. Further out around 5-6 miles out there are a couple of sections where the trail is very narrow due to flooding damage a couple of years ago that had not been repaired. Nice thing about riding w/ kid at eklutna is you can detour around any of the rougher, narrower sections of singletrack if you stay on the ATV road.
Sunday is a bad day to go biking there since they let the ATV loose on the lake road/trail then, much nicer weekend outing if you go friday or saturday.
