I rode the Yeti up to Kincaid Park and back Friday. I felt pretty bad with my 5+ inches of travel on the paved trails. I hucked off a couple 6 inch curbs.

So is that some secret trail or what?

Nope, not yet. You have to ' earn ' the orange rocket rides by way of a LOT of early season, mindlessly steep pedal powered climbs

BINGO, Just get out and look around, don't sit in town twiddling your thumbs waiting for the Spencer Loop , et al, to dry out. It's out there, be adventurous.....BTW, had a friend ride the single track on Keppler this past weekend and other than the horses hammering the trails, said it was very good. The double track is still probably way boggy..........

Up on further review, your pic was taken from the next rock dome up, about 15 ft from where my 5th pic was shot from

I believe you're right, there must be a Kickstand Rock I and a Kickstand Rock II, one dome apart! How careless of me to not have noticed the distinction! I must be slipping.....

Yes, that pic was from the day with Tim, Evi and Carl, and oh what a beaut it was!

Here's a hint bubba: I mentioned it a couple days ago in Valhalla's post about the Campbell Airstrip/Bivouac Trails. Wow, did we just invent an e-treasure hunt?

Damn that was actually kind of fun trying to figure it out. I even went down to the bike shop and inquired. Sorry what can I say I am the newbie when it comes to trails outside of the Campbell tract.

Any how thanks Rando! I am dying to take out my new steed. I might even have to play hooky this week and start my weekend early

Any one up for a mini road trip Thur. or Fri.? I will drive.

    Later Manny

Oh man Randy you gave it away, this was a fun thread, but I guess the location had to be revealed at some point. Anyway since the cat is out of the bag. Here are my photos from that same area last year around this time.

    http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.ph...ht=kings+river

Comparing the two it actually looks like there is a little less snow this year. I havenít been out that way yet. Sounds like a fun place to find some dirt and mud. My summer MTB is not put together yet, but maybe by this weekend....

For a big snow year, it certainly looks drier out there compared to last year at this time. Leaf out happened this week last year - about 7-10 days earlier than the average.
