    dirt road tour east Russia

this is my first post here. hi.

i'm curious if anyone out there has ever ridden on Russia's Road of Bones, which runs from Magadan to Yakutsk in far east russia. it seems like that after riding around in alaska and canada for a bit, russia might be the next place to go that still looks like here... thanks dylan

    No

I know nothing about it, so take plenty of bribe/bail money and take lots of pics. You may start something.

You can get "The Long Way Around" at Blockbuster - they have good video footage of the road of bones . . . worthy dvd for the rest of it as well.

    thanks for the picture.
it has been motorcycled -- both solo and with the support of a discovery channel convoy -- in the summer, but also walked and biked in the winter. i guess bikers usually leave magadan in sept/oct so they can ride across the rivers that cross the road. i'd rather have mosquitoes than -50F, so i'm thinking next summer with a packraft. and fly to russia, not packraft over to diomede and beyond.

Let me know if you do go. I could be over in that part of the world ,well sort of (Xinjiang China) next year.

I wouldn't do it on a MTB (take to long) but I'd be interested in doing it on Motor bike though.
