    Crust riding?

Does anybody know of the snow conditions on the south side of the Alaska Range? Talkeetna north off the Parks or around Isabel Pass? Is there any chance of hard crust on top of snow riding, like off trail? I know it's probably too late and it would be early morning late night riding but I'd like an excuse for a drive and camping out. t

    Rain

I talked to a friend out in Petersville (North of the Parks) yesterday. He said he had just gotten 14 inches of new snow and then it started raining. He said early morning maybe but not a sure thing the way it's warming up.

It's been raining and snowing in the petersville area since sunday and all the wet slop has made the crust really soften up. maybe if it cooled down you might get a couple hours in the mornings but I bet buy around 10 you better be back to hard ground.
