    Continental Divide Trail Concern

I came across this today about the Continental Divide Trail and plans the U.S. Forest Service has for changing the rules for bicycles on this and other trails. I'm not sure if this is the same as the Great Divide race route, but if it is, it sounds like major portions of this route might be closed to bicycles.

    Here's the link I found: http://bicyclecolo.org/page.cfm?PageID=833

Anybody know more about this? If true, perhaps we should get some comments in to the U.S. Forest Service and our folks in DC.

I don't know if the GDR uses this section for the race but it is a very popular ride just outside of Salida. Check out the thread in the front range forum about Monarch Crest Trail Closure - there is a link to a petition to keep the Colorado Trail open to bikes. It would be great to get some folks from outside of Colorado to put their 2 cents in to the forest service.

    Thanks
