Bicentennial Trail Users Committee Mtg. Oct 4

    Heads Up!

The next meeting of the Far North Bicentennial Park Trail Users Committee is on Monday, October 4th at 6:20 p.m., Campbell Creek Science Center off of the north end of Abbott Loop Road.

This is the same audience at which over 30 mountain bikers and other concerned trail users expressed misgivings about the widening and graveling of the Tour of Anchorage Trail, Homestead Trail and View Point Trail.

At the October 4th meeting, the newly formed advocacy group "Single Track Advocates" will introduce its mission and goals. The STA has formed a "steering committee" to help the group focus its efforts and to figure out how to get work done. For more information, please email [email protected]

Mt Bikers please attend, show that you're concerned

    QB, thanks for the notice.

Does anyone know if Adam's interview was broadcast yet? If it hasn't, when is it scheduled for?

AkDave, will you be off work by then? Maybe we can pool over.

    An added note...

Please keep in mind that there will definitely be other trail user group representatives besides the Ski Club at this meeting. Single Track Advocates has a lot of goals in common with other groups (i.e. skijorers) and we should work toward a good relationship and optimal solutions for all those who appreciate single track. A negative current or big blowout at the Oct. 4th meeting could lead to horrible relationships and irreparable harm to our cause.

    Think positive and be constructive!

Single Track Advocates Survey #1 Posted

The first survey has been posted, and it would be great if we could get as many people as possible to take it early so we might have some preliminary results to this meeting also.
