Jeez, it's Febererry, fer cripesake! Almost NASCAR time and they're still foolin' around with football??

I'm riding today on my freshly groomed 42 inch wide trails that I've pampered with the drag I've been building. Next week the paint crew comes and paints a centerline, no passing zones, turn lanes......

The trails here are like freeways now except for the moose divits.

We're riding a bike, not a couch plus Janet Jackson's not there this year. Doing Eagle RIver from the campground to the Nature Center up the river meeting around 12:30 @ the campground.

but we still get moose divits, moose nuggets, and caribou digging along the sides and throwing the loose snow up on the trail.

Cool sled. Is that a converted Winnabego pull-out step ladder by any chance?

Oh, and the burns on the tops of my feet healed nicely. Thanks for asking...

Wear shoes. Ironically, I burned the poo out of the top of my own foot while welding a fuel tank stand for our Kodiak neighbors this past summer.

It was just a tiny little one inch break, I'll just tack it together real quick (while wearing shorts and sandals). Of course, a molten blob of metal the size of a pencil eraser LODGED BETWEEN MY TOES and I couldn't shake it off.before it made beautiful brown blisters on both appendages.

    Live and learn (or not).

I may spend April in Moab on another building project; stop by for pizza if you're in the hood.

Puttin' the sled before the dog?

Now just being plain ol' Anchorage city folk, I don't know how everybody does it but most of the time I've seen the dogs out front pulling the sled not the sled pulling the dog..

but then thats one of those Iron Dogs so I guess anything goes..

......I'll show you lotsa bizarre ways to do things. Any old dog sled dog can PULL, it takes a heck of a herding dog to PUSH a Bearcat!

Trails are excellent up here, when ya comin' up?

It was good, made it up to probably a few miles before the Nature Center where we hit wall to wall overflow and turned back. A few small patches of open aqueous death, but we just followed the ice skater and walker tracks.Saw a few other bike tracks as well. No pics this time, sorry. BillM and Kathi are going up tomorrow but sounds like they plan to push as part of their training for the Ultrasport. I told em to just go to the grocery store and push a shopping cart around. Lots of new snow today, whee. Sounds like you guys had a good ride on the Yentna, get those mile logged in!

Good point that is one heck of a dog that can herd snowmachines.

I ended up doing my training on the local trails so I won't be up until after the race to McGrath at the end of this month. But Jo-Ann and I will absolutely be there in May to ride the park road hopefully we will make a long weekend out of it if we can. I still want to get up there in the winter sometime to ride the Denali H-Way. I really love that area, but I've never seen it in the winter.
