New question here. Any Juneau Riders?

    What's doing all?

I am from NYC but I will be working in Juneau for the next few months. I am packing my bike and was wondering if there were any good shops (or any bike shops period) in Juneau and more importantly, where are the local trails? I'll be flying in this weekend and would love to meet up with any local riders. Aside from some warm and waterproof clothes anything else I should pack? What are the trails like?

    Cheers-

    El Capitán

    El Cap: I'm a rider

Plenty of riding around here, year-round. Bikes are allowed on many hiking trails, and will stay that way if riders don't terrorize hikers. Perseverance trail downtown is a favorite of mine. weedays are better due to fewer people. For a shop, check out mt gears, now called 'road and mountain gear', near the airport in the valley. talk to hans. by the way, there's a cool place on prince of wales island south of here called El Capitan. Hidden in the forests are some of the better caves in the world. wonder if anybody has tried night riding there.

hey i have ridden here for about 6 months with my friend. There are some pretty easy but fun trails over on the brother hood bridge trial back behind riverbend school in the valley. Another exellent choice is spaulding medows. Happy trails
