I would be up for a ride, but I can't say for sure, I have to work this weekend and my bike needs a little TLC at the moment. I will be up for a short Anchorage area ride for sure, because I will need a break but I don't think I will have time for an out of town ride.

I'm up for a saturday ride,..
    ..Where were you thinking dave?
In town might be better to avoid all the holiday traffic.

sometime next week i was thinking of riding from Jim Creek to the edge of the knik glacier & then possibly up the mountain side from there..
The trail starts in Butte, out along the knik river, twisting through a roller coaster of sand dune singletracks, then opens out on to the glacial plane & leads to the lake at the base of the Knik Glacier.
Terrain varies from sand & silt mud, to gravel & dry creek beds.. some atv trails & some wide open ground. There are two knee to waist deep creek crossings, that one might be able to find a dry way around.
'Not much climbing untill you get to the mountain trails at the back edge of the plane, where there's trails leading up the mountain side to some mini moab style slick rock.

It might be crowded with ORV's on the weekends.. but its such a large area it won't be that annoying.
A weekday would probably be better..
Sounds like a good excuse to take a day off work!
    anyone want to go?

Yep, the back wheel is toast, not so much from the single broken spoke as from my caveman repair (ie bash the wheel on the ground until it is true enough to stop rubbing on the chainstay repeat as needed) . Just swapped out my superlite Gucci discwheels for my heavy 36spoke wheels and Vee brakes, the bike gained almost a pound. Got some ideas for new wheels though, something sweet for the Sweet Roll.
Also I think that fine Kincaid dust/sand has worked its way into every moving part on the bike. Oh horror of horrors my mountian bike is actually dirty!!
