    Looks like he's the first place American so far! I've raced with Peter Oyler from Germany back when I raced in Italy/Germany/Austria. I'm pretty sure that's him since he had a RAAM jersey on.

    My buddy, Les, that came from Germany last year to do the Fireweed 400 remembered Jeff Oatley's name. He e-mailed me and a couple friends, "I’m rooting for Jeff Oatley. He’s the SOB that set a new record at the Fireweed400 in Alaska last year and denied me of a RAAM qualification." Haha!

    Just checked RAAM for the first time in days. Jeff's on the home stretch now ... next in line to finish, although he still has about 200 miles.

    If all goes smoothly, he'll be 7th place! And if I'm not mistaken, the top American. Wow.
