So Any Feedback on the Plague?

The bike that really made this sub forum came alive two years ago has came.... and gone?

I see no news of this thing. No purchase mentions or build outs. Soul Chicken's prototype build thread is nice, but that's about it and its not even the retail version.

    Anyone? Bueller?

Not surprised by the lack of responses.

Regardless of the recent reorganization of the company, this is a good example of waiting too long to get your product to market.

In all fairness, they weren't "waiting" to do anything... that implies they had a strategy or reason for withholding a product that was ready to go. It wasn't, they weren't. Waiting had nothing to do with it.

Call it what you want, it doesn't change the fact that they missed the market. They had a working prototype, that was shown to the public, as of May 30th, 2014 per this bike rumor article below. I can easily say with confidence that they probably had the same prototype a while even before that. While I know that you need to test the thing and get the tweaks out, taking 2 years and 5 months to get to a production release is a long time for a direct to market bike company and a small company at that.

While sale numbers of the Plague aren't made public, I'd like to think that they are below estimates.

Fully agree with you. Airborne was hot for a while, but bikes sold out and or became outdated and it took forever for new models to trickle in. 2+ years for the plague to be released is way to long and most potential buyers moved on. Always was 6 months away......

I'm guessing Airborne's issues with getting bikes out were related to whatever happened with Huffy Corp, of which nothing was explained like they said it was going to be.

Dated designs aren't really helping them.

Canyon USA launches this year too. The online bike ordering options have really grown, unfortunately leaving Airborne in the dust.
