need road tires for my Guardian

nothing here in Texas but rain, rain, and more rain. I'd like to get some road or urban tires for commuting and general exercise and save my knobbies for when my favorite trails are rideable again. (Given houston drivers and potholes, I'm sticking to my MTB and not going roadie.)

What size tires can I get? I'm a little confused because the rim strip says Kenda 29X2.0 but the Wienmann spec indicates the wheel is 700x32/42.

I know that 700=29. But 42 is about 1.5" and this is what's throwing me off.

You're on the right track. 29 and 700c are the same size. Road and hybrid tires come 700. From there it's a question how wide you want to go. That will be based on terrain, etc. Keep in mind that you can't go true "roadie" (23-28) because ur wide mtn rims won't support the narrow tires.

Pick up some 700x32 or 700x35 tires. That will be a great size. Don't forget new tubes too!
