100 vs 120 fork on seeker or hobgoblin

    Hey everyone,

I know both the Seeker and the HobGoblin's geometry is set up for a 100mm fork, but has anyone on here swapped to a 120mm on either??

Did you like or dislike the feel?

Did it change the handling a lot?

Maybe someone @Airborne can let me know if changing to a 120mm is a good idea?

    I have a 16" Seeker and 15" HG, I'm a fat bastard at 212 lbs..

I thought about and searched this as well when I was wondering if the Seeker's Recon could be modified to 120mm. Since it seems like only the 15mm thru axle version can be modified and I'm not too interested swapping my fork right now, I stopped looking into it.

I highly doubt Airborne or any Mfg would recommend you modify geometry.

I've decided against changing from 100mm.

Jerry Hazard has/had a 120mm fork on his HobGoblin. Note: it will void your warranty as they don't test with both 100mm and 120mm since they don't sell them with 120mm from the factory.

Thanks for the info, I bought another 100mm Recon to throw on there.

120mm on both, is the ticket. Thank me later....

I feel the front end is already pretty high on my HGXO. I would have to slam my stem.

Had a 120mm on my Guardian for a minute. The xtra cush was nice, but (and can't believe I would say this, as I'm a long travel fan) the added travel really didn't make the ride better. The sweet spot was 100mm, steered quick but still stable at speed.

The Hobgoblin, on the other hand.... I had a 140mm on that. For me it worked, but I was experimenting with an all-mountian build up. For general trail/XC it was way overkill. But, I'd say a 120mm would be right at home, all warranty issues aside. Such a great bike....

Thanks for for all the replies, good to know if I replace the fork later.

So can you change the stock Recon to 120mm or buy a new fork. And also how often should I have my fork serviced?

From what I've found online, only the 15mm thru axle version can be converted to 120mm, not our 9mm QR version.
