What do I need to look for in ordering a replacement rim?

I dented my DT Swiss E 1900 29" rear rim pretty badly that came stock on my 2019 Canyon Strive CF 6.0. Ended up trying to unbend the side of the rim and it destroyed its structural integrity. I want to replace it while keeping my old hub. It is a 28 hole DT swiss hub. Specs of the wheel build:
    • DT Swiss E 1900 XD
    • Rim Material: Aluminium
    • Inner Width: 30 mm
    • Freewheel: 3 Pawl
    • Weight: 1115 gram

    • Would a 29 mm internal width rim work?
    • What do I need to know as far as purchasing spokes for it as well?

You need a 28 hole rim. 29mm IW would be indistinguishable from 30. The new rim needs to have basically the same ERD as the old to be able to reuse all the spokes. Offset rims usually don't change spoke lengths enough to matter compared to non-offset rims. Other than the $$$, new spokes are a good idea anyway. You should use the same lacing so the spokes bed the same in the hub flanges.

To get spokes, you need to plug the hub (or hub dimensions), the actual rim ERD, and rim offset if any into a spoke calculator. L/R spokes are usually different lengths. This is assuming standard nipples, othewise allowance for the nipple needs to be made.
    What, me worry?

    It's an M502 rim. Direct replacement. https://www.dtswiss.com/en/products/...ountain/m-502/

I've never disassembled the 1900 series but the 1700 used the Squorx nipples. Having the tool chucked in a drill made it a lot easier.
