    What axle do I have!?

    Hey everyone, but stuck here...

I'd ordered a Shimano xt set a while back for my bike... 142x12 for the rear, which I've since pushed over the edge if its life expectancy, and 15mm front which I could never install because it's the wrong axle size.

Now I find myself having ruined the front wheel too and I'm trying to make dead sure I know what to buy....

What the hell wheel do I need to buy here!?

That looks to be a 9mm thru-axle. Your fork is not compatible with 15mm thru-axle. Your fork will accept either a 5mm quick release (hollow 9mm axle) or a 9mm thru axle. Whatever hub you replace your current one with must be either a QR or 9mm thru axle. Don't know if your hub is trashed. If not, just rebuild it with a new rim and spokes.
