Tires :Surly ET and Vittoria Mezcal - Anyone have true tire widths ???

On my 29er, I am trying to fit either a Surly ET 2.5" wide or a Vittoria Mezcal 2.3 or 2.6 in the rear but would like to know if anyone has info on what ANY of these tires measure out at their widest point .
At the moment I have Kendra 2.2 with some room to spare but not lots.
Does anyone out there have any actual/accurate width dimensions they'd be nice enough to share ?

Thanks, Gerry from San Diego, CA

I can't help with measurements, but what bike are you working with? If you're tight on a 2.2, 2.6 is going to be a stretch.

Seems like a 2.35-2.4 might be the max based on these threads for the 2013 model.

Purchased a Mezcal II last year and found it to be much smaller than advertised. Contacted Vittoria about this and they said they did have a large batch that was found to be smaller than anticipated for whatever reason. Supposedly were reworking molds to be true to size.

For me this was on an i29 rim and I had purchased the 2.35" version only to have it come out, at max, to 2.25" at 40psi.

Well that is good to know. May have to try the Martello up front as a replacement of the Goma and got 2.6/2.35. The 2.35 wasn't bad, just a little on the small side if I remember correctly. Kinda sucks that the new graphene materials are not as long wearing as they used to be. But I guess I would rather have a tire that has good traction and doesn't cost a mint and wears out close to the same as the other higher priced than spend the money on the higher priced brands and have them wear just as quickly.
