Slowing down steering on short offset forks

I recently was able to get a new Fox34 SC 29er fork with 44mm offset for free so i replaced the old fox32 i had on my xc bike. I havent gone for a proper ride yet but i can tell the steering has quickened up a bit. How do i slow down the steering a little? Wider bars, shorter or longer stem? Would adding more spacers under the stem help at all?

Wider bars would help some, longer stem could make fit problematic. Consider the possibility of using something like an angleset to slack the head tube angle out a degree or so.

Less offset means more trail, which slows steering and make the bike a little more floppy. Your bike's handling may feel different, but the difference isn't normally called faster steering.
    What, me worry?

    This
Your steering has more on center feel. If you want to slow down, then longer bars or a longer stem will work.
Making shit harder than it needs to be isn't awesome, it's just...harder.
