Shimano Rear Hub 12s m8110 Noise Crackless

    I have a m8110 hub, shimano xt 12v...

One month after purchase it started a very loud and strong noise coming from the rear hub.

It only happens when pedaling... Suspect that the new freehub is defective. I have already search on youtube and other peoples reports noises and crackless on this new 12s cube. The noise is even stronger when climbing hills...

Does anyone have it too? or know how to fix it?

The manual says to put grease in a minimum few places, I put it already ... but 50-70km later the noise comes back.

Pull the cassette, and hub and investigate, I would suspect loose cassette and or spokes

Then it sounds like you have it narrowed down to an exact spot, where is it?

There have been some issues with early microspline hubs. Might want to contact Shimano about a replacement through your LBS.

sounds to me like the cassette shim is missing.

My XTR cassette didn't come with one when I bought it a year ago. I installed the cassette and rode, until I started getting horrible creaking. Then I buckled down and ordered a pack of the shims from my lbs. None of those noises since.

I've read that Shimano made some kind of change to the cassettes (especially to the XT and SLX ones) that "integrated" this shim. But the way the sound is described sounds exactly like what I experienced.

That shim did come to mind when I first read the thread. I want to say the SLX cassette I have on one bike had a soft, silicone sealant kinda insulator on the back of it.

One month in... go back to your LBS and have them look at it.

This is why you have product warranty and service from your store, it's not your problem to resolve.
