Newbie Specialized Fuse Comp 29 ?

    Hello all,
I'm brand new Fuse Comp 29r Owner. I love this bike, the last time I bought a bike for myself was a Schwinn back in the early 90's.
For my style riding, Flat dirt trails and generally just getting exercise.

What would I need to raise the bars 1-1.5

This seems it would be way more comfortable for the style riding that I do now.

    Thank you!!

Riser bars. Depending on your current rise bars go up to roughly 75mm.

    Thank you.
So I will need a new set of bars?
The don't make a long post for the bars? I see the spacers but they are already on the bottom.

Your riding a mountain bike not a cruiser. You are not meant to sit straight up. And doing so will NOT help you with trails. Changing things like the bars are based on riding style and fit. Not "just because I think it will be better". Especially the crazy amount you want to raise them.

There is a massive book basically on when and why to change things. Seeing as you purchased an entry bike I doubt you want to waste money. So dont do something to expirament unless your ready for it to end up collecting dust somewhere.

    Hey thanks.
I had full intentions on doing trail riding more but the lately the rides have been back dirt roads with buddies and leisurely rides with my kids.
This might be an entry level bike for some but for me it was a large purchase for a bike.
I have a bad back and it seems if I would raise the bars maybe an inch it would increase comfort a ton.

I didn't know if it would require brand new Fork or as simple as replacing the stem or handle bars.

Go back to your bike shop. Specialized makes a whole range of stems that will swap right out for 50 bucks. The shop will help you pick it out and maybe even swap it out with no labor charge, if you just bought the bike from them.

Oh, and the Fuse is a little cross countryish in its geometry if I remember right, so going up with your bar isn't going to hurt your "all mountain" handling.

Perfect thank you very much for your help.
This is exactly what I was looking for. And if I change it and don't like it oh well I'm out fifty bucks

    I run a 50mm / 20* rise stem and 3" rise / 810mm wide bars on my XC ride

Riser bars make a big difference. When I sold my old bike I kept the Atomlab Pimplites for my new ride.
