    Need help on chain ring set up

    I bought a 2019 Santa Cruz Chameleon D build. It is a 1x11 speed. The crank is a Race Face Aeffect 175mm 11 speed with a 30 tooth front chain ring. The chain I am unsure of, but know itís a 11speed chain. The cassette is a 11 speed SRAM NX and the derailleur is a SRAM 11 speed NX.

    I want to convert it to a 12 speed. What Iíve ordered so far is a 12 speed X01 derailleur, a X01 12 speed cassette, and a X01 12 speed chain.

    I have also ordered a rear hub with a XD driver for the X01 cassette.

    My question is, will the stock Sram Aeffect front 11 speed chain ring work, or do I need to go with a different 12 speed front chain ring?

    If I need a new front 30 tooth chain ring, do I need any particular offset?

    Thanks

    I'd stay with the chainring you have. 11 and 12 have the same inner width.
    Almost = Didn't

    Yes, and work perfectly.

    As for the size between 11 spd and 12 spd, it will work perfectly. However, you may have another consideration and that is in the fact that you are moving from an 11-42 cassette to a 10-50 cassette. You could play around with the chainring size to optimize your gear range based on what is important to you. I like to use Mike Sherman's Gear Calculator to give insight into what is going on gear wise ... For instance, here is what is going on with your current setup ( https://mike-sherman.github.io/shift...=no&TITLE=SRAM 11 speed Cassette 11-42&HL=1&DO=1 ) and this is if you keep the same ring on the new setup ( https://mike-sherman.github.io/shift...=no&TITLE=SRAM 12 speed 10-50 &HL=1&DO=1 ) In this case, you are gaining both some top end speed as well as a much lower gearing for climbing, but if you wanted to increase either even more you could change the ring and the gear calculator helps determine how that will affect things.
