New question here. Maxxis Aggressor or Ardent Race for rear

Just got my SC Tallboy and I had it built with an Aggressor rear tire (DHF front) knowing that I had a brand new Ardent Race that I could try if I didn't like it. Has anyone ridden both? Looking for the least amount of rolling resistance as I ride a fair amount of road to trail and back on road (2-3 miles each way).

The Ardent Race is gonna roll much faster but won't give much confidence on singletrack with a DHF up front. I'd rather pair an Ardent Race with a Rekon 2.4 or Dissector 2.4 up front unless you really need/want the DHF on there. I run a 2.4 Rekon/2.4 Dissector on a Ripley very similar bike) and it's a good balance of speed and traction in dry.

I used to have a 2.3 exo aggressor on my old bike and also rode with a 2.2 non-exo ardent race much further into the past. Considering that I did aggressive trail riding, the ardent race was awful while the aggressor was a good balance between grip and rolling resistance. I also thought though that the 2.3 aggressor was never enough tire for me, so if you find the aggressor more than adequate for you then maybe a 2.3 ardent race might be fine. But to me the ardent race I had was a pure xc tire and aggressor a good all-around trail tire.

It sounds like you have both tires so I don't see why you couldn't just swap the rear out and try for yourself if you are that curious. But this was my point of view.
