2015 DB Mason FS wheel upgrade

Hi all, I have a 2015 DB Mason FS with 29" wheels and was wondering how do i determine or would you recommend a wheel upgrade for this old of a bike or just keep riding it? It currently has original DB AM290 wheels on it and I upgraded the factory tires for lighter Continental tires. It weighs in at 33-34lbs now and I wouldn't mind having the bike be a bit more playful and a easier climber. I ride mostly trail with the occasional downhill day.

Current parts break down list are:

    Rear Derailleur

    Rear Cogs
    SRAM PG-1030, 10-speed: 11-36

    Shifters
    SRAM X-7

    Handlebars

Those are probably pretty heavy wheels with crappy DB brand hubs. Are you still running tubes? If so get rid of those and shave off close to 1 pound.

There is a nice DT Swiss set (w/ 350 hubs) on The Pros Closet at a great price. Pretty sure its boost only though.

Another option is a custom wheel build. This can be done on a budget at bicyclewheelwarehouse (has 25% off coupon on the site) and speedgearbike. Velomine has some cheap options but I would spring for a better srt of hubs personally (Bitex or DT350).

Lastly you can look for take offs or lightly used sets on EBay, Pinkbike, or here. Sounds like you would be best suited with something close to 25mm internal width.
